Why having a routine helps your day
Routines are so important
Routines do not just set the day, do you are ready for what big adventure may come next but also, routines at night can close the day and prepare you for a gentle sleep tos tar the day again.
What is cool about routines is it can help you achieve your goals.
I remember someone saying, I lost weight because I got into a routine to go running. Setting and continually completing the routine will see you achieve your goals, whatever they may be.
So how do you create a routine?
Start with the basics. For the next two weeks create the same routine for when you wake up. Wash your face, eat breakfast, make a coffee and brush your teeth. You can do this in any order and you can add or subtract from it.
Then, if you have already, write down three goals and then put them in order of your highest priority being one. Now, work out how much time you want to spend or have time to spend on your goal each day / week.
Next, workout a time each day / week to work on said goal. This is so important. Because goals can remain goals a year later without being started or continued because you have not paved time to it. Setting a routine paves time for it. Now notice, I didn’t say do this for the top 3 goals. For now, we are just focussing on one goal, your number one goal.
Follow this routine for three months. You can add more time to this goal if you haven’t and if you want to get there faster.
Now after three months, revisit your goal. Do you want to amend it? Refine it? Change it or add to it? How much more time a week do you need to achieve this over the next three months?
Now change to your updated goal for two weeks. Do you feel confident you will continue on your journey and keep revisiting your goal every three months?
If so, go to your second goal. Now do the same process for the top goal for the second goal. Make a set time for it daily / weekly. And do this for three months and then every three months, see your progress and upgrade it if you want / need to.
Now watch while your life transforms on doing what you want and love to do. Keep dreaming and achieving.
