You are stronger

You are stronger than you think.

Right now, you might be going through a problem, a challenge, a situation that feels awful that you want to run from.

You can tell your friends about it but you have to live it yourself. It’s not fun. Every day the problem is there and it’s not going away.

You find ways to deal with it. But it’s hard because it keeps growing and it stays there. It’s affecting your mind and your health.

You can’t sleep. You struggle to eat. Your mind plays the thoughts over and over and it’s consuming you. You don’t know how to fix it. Because you can’t control it. You can only deal with it as each day it comes. It might change in different ways but it’s dirtier than ever. It plays hard and fast and you don’t know how to respond. You want to run but you know you can’t.

And then you do everything you can to stop it. To solve it. To fix it. You spend all your waking moments trying to think of new ways. It consumes you.

And something happens. The problem goes away. The darkness slowly leaves. But you are still weary. You are still worried. Still fearful. And you wonder, could it happen again?

But things have changed. You have put things into place and into motion that if something like that happened again, you would know the warning. You would be prepared. You would see the red flags. Your trust may feel like it has disappeared but then you start to notice other things.

Beautiful moments. Beautiful hearted people. Beautiful things that start to surround yourself. And your heart softens. And then as time goes by, somebody asks you about that dark period of your life. And you realise as they tell you, “they wouldn’t have known what to do in that situation and they would have run away from the problem.” You realise, how strong you are now.

You are so strong. But also how strong you were going through that darkness and never giving up. It doesn’t matter how hard it was for you, you got up every day and hoped for something better. And that day finally came. And you realised, “Wow. Look at me. I don’t know how I did that. But I am so strong now more than ever and I will never let that situation happen again.”

But not just that, you discover the importance of life. Even in the very hard times, find something to be grateful for. Find the reason you are fighting to keep going. And find the lesson you needed to learn during one of the toughest problems. Because self-reflection is key. It’s not just, “I can’t believe it’s over.”

“It’s I survived one of the darkest moments and now look at me. I am stronger.”
